At Mecca, there are no ordinary classes. Utilizing the most qualified instructors in Austin, our classes offer clients a perfect complement to their exercise routine. Our classes our inventive, well-studied and beneficial to the body. Our instructors are devoted to their field and consistently pursue advanced certifications. We limit our class size for more individualized instruction. All Pilates Mat, yoga and Gyrokinesis® classes are in our second floor studio. Cycling classes are in the main gym on the third floor.

cycle title
In this stationary indoor cycling class, participants get a high energy, high intensity workout, without the high impact and joint stress typically associated with cardiovascular exercise. Furthermore, adjustments in the difficulty of the exercise in a cycle class are as simple as moving a lever, and although even competitive cyclists can be challenged by this class, beginners have no trouble modifying intensity and working at levels appropriate for them. The instructor creates a virtual ride, takes you away, then brings you back feeling challenged yet refreshed and rejuvenated. WARNING: This activity is addictive!

cycle abs title
In this indoor cycling workout, the ride is just 40 minutes in duration, but the intensity is raised accordingly, and participants are encouraged to “crank it up a notch!” However, as in every class at Mecca, beginners are given instruction on adjusting the intensity to levels appropriate for them, and it is as simple as moving the bike resistance lever slightly. This class ends with 15 minutes of abdominal work.

yoga title
This is an all level class designed for beginning through intermediate level students. Classes can be vigorous or gentle depending on the level of students present and style of yoga taught. Students will deepen their level of confidence and strength, while being introduced to a range of postures.

pilates title
Introduction to Pilates Mat
Learn the principles of alignment, breath, and pelvic stabilization in an intimate class setting. Focus will be in the introduction of the basic principles of the Pilates Technique and the ten basic mat exercises. This is a 4-week class beginning the first week of every month, and is a pre-requisite for all other Pilates classes. 4 week introduction class is an advance sign up. Pilates mat
The mat works consists of a series of non-impact, yet challenging movements which increases strength and flexibility and improves alignment, balance, coordination, and tone. Focus is on deep core strength and stabilization with balanced muscle use and uniformity of the entire body. The “powerhouse” - abdomen, lower back, and buttocks - is strengthened, enabling the rest of the body to move freely. The class works the systems of the body through rotation, lateral flexion, extension, and forward flexion. The program is designed to meet the needs of both the novice and advanced exerciser.
